Postdoctoral Research Positions
National Observatory of Athens
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral research position at
the National Observatory of Athens in the field of high energy
extragalactic astronomy. Applicants should have obtained a Ph.D. in
astronomy or a related field by the starting date of the appointment.
Successful candidates are expected to join the main research activities
of the X-ray group of the National Observatory of Athens on the
characterisation of the X-ray populations in XMM and Chandra
extragalactic surveys, the cosmological evolution of AGN and their
obscuration properties, the relation between the formation of galaxies and
the the growth of the supermassive black holes at their centres. For

involves researchers at the University of Athens, University of Crete,
MPE/Munich, CEA/Saclay, Bologna, Oxford and CfA/Harvard.
The starting date of the post is in Autumn 2012 and the gross monthly
salary is 2,800 euros. Interested candidates should send a curriculum
