Difficult.
I think that sometimes these can be the same thing but they can
definitely be done independently too.
If I go into a school as a volunteer and talk about the science behind
my research, I don't consider this to be marketing - but it's definitely
outreach.
But if I go in carrying brochures for my company, with slides about
graduate recruitment then it becomes marketing - that doesn't mean that
I'm not also doing outreach.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Science Outreach vs Marketing
Hi everyone over there in the Northern Hemisphere,
I have just been asked....
"What is the difference between outreach and marketing?"
I am keen to hear what your "definitions" or thoughts are differences
and similarities between these two tools.
Thanks for your help
Emma
