I would like to invite you personally to participate in the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial: Seeking Silicon Valley taking place this September - December. 

How can you get involved you asked? Included in this message is OPEN CALLS, INTERNSHIPS, ART AMBASSADOR FELLOWSHIP and VOLUNTEER opportunities. 

OPEN CALLS 
ZERO1 is very excited to announce the first round of Open Calls for the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial, Seeking Silicon Valley. We have numerous calls providing opportunities for all types of artists. There are two different series of calls currently open: ArtHERE Silicon Valley and the ZERO1 Emerging Artists Network. 

ArtHERE (open to anyone to apply) 
ArtHERE Silicon Valley is an online platform and website for crowd-sourced urban revitalization through the matching of art and place, launching as part of the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial. Through an open call process, we are now inviting artists to submit proposals for a series of spaces in downtown San Jose’s SoFA District - the hub of the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial. The goal is to help the Silicon Valley community and artists activate empty and under-utilized urban spaces. Even if you don't submit a proposal yourself, we'd love for you to check out the site, read through the proposals, and "like" your favorites. 

ZERO1 Emerging Artist Network (open to California artists only) 
ZERO1 Emerging Artist Network open calls are specifically for projects by California-based emerging artists that will be featured in the ZERO1 Biennial weekend-long outdoor exhibition throughout the opening week, September 12th-16th. Artists chosen to receive micro-grants will be invited to participate in a weekend of events dedicated to the development of this new program. 

INTERNSHIPS 
We swear we won't make you get us coffee! 
Our internship program is an immersive educational and professional development program where interns will be part of the community and receive hand on training. This once in a life time unique opportunity is available to just the right group of students. 
Are you one of them? 

Be an intern to the Executive Director, Joel Slayton; create a mobile augmented experience as an App Lab intern or build relationships with partner arts organization through our Marketing Internship. 

ART AMBASSADOR 
Work with up to 5 art ambassadors from around the country who will participate in an intensive 3 month program learning about the biennial artists, programs, footprint and social platforms in order to serve as the social face during the main dates of the event. We are looking for people 
who can use Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, video editors, geo-caches, game players, digital photographers, bloggers, people who love new media and contemporary art. Is this you? 


VOLUNTEERING 
Come Play and be Involved with ZERO1! 
ZERO1 is looking currently gathering volunteers for the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial. We are looking for everything from from working with artists, to docents, to video editing and documentation.
