Football in Museums: Interpreting the global game
The third annual symposium of the International Football Institute

National Football Museum, Manchester.
The 2012 Symposium will appeal to all those with an interest in football and sport museums and those with a related interest in the heritage of football.
The event will enable delegates to hear about current best practice in interpreting football in museums. It will take a European perspective and address key areas including:
• How can we best interpret football in both specialist football museums and the wider museums sector?
• How can museums work in partnership with football clubs to preserve their history?
• What are the alternatives to establishing a specialist football museum?
• What does the future hold for football museums?
• How can those engaged in football in museums work in partnership?
Delegates will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the new National Football Museum.
Speakers will include Kevin Moore, Director of the National Football Museum, Wray Vamplew, pioneering sports historian, and guest contributors from a range of football museums.
