Dear colleagues,
It is possible to machine poppets that work out of vespel (as long as
the chemicals you seed your expansion with are compatible). It requires
a good machine shop of course and (a lot of) trial and error until the
right shape with the right seal can be reproduced. Teflon is machinable
of course but it is very difficult because it "moves" after being
machined (so I have understood from my machine shop...), anyways in our
case, vespel was more appropriate than teflon, as far as peek is
concerned, I do not how doable it is.
