which has a very nice (downloadable) plan of the city in 1600 (though
superimposed on the modern voiries), sufficiently expandable so that even the
most hardened fan of "en principe" will be satisfied.
at about 400% magnification one can even make out the location of the tiny
chapel of St. Aignan, north of the cathedral, which Stephen of Garland built
in the 1120s.
counting that, it looks like there were at least 16 churches on that tiny Isle
--no wonder neither the Vikings nor the Hugonutz weren't able to take it.
