Bangor University now welcomes applications for its 125th Anniversary Research Scholarship scheme 2012:
Applications are welcome in any area of Media, Communication and Cultural Studies that fits one or more staff research profiles of Bangor's School of Creative Studies and Media: http://www.bangor.ac.uk/creative_industries/staff.php.en?catid=&subid=1924
However, projects are particularly encouraged which examine questions relevant to one of the School's priority areas, which are:
1. Journalism and risk in the age of digital, global media
2. East Asian visual culture (from a variety of visual media and cultural forms, such as photography, fine art, film, and television, in a range of geographic locations, particularly, however, Japan, Korea and China).

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
