I wish we'd done that at Nottingham Trent. I agree with Jayne - the combination of having to explain to lecturers how to get their bookmark button onto their toolbars (which an surprising number of people don't even use) is a major hurdle for many lecturers - and this after they've already wasted the first five minutes of their training session filling in the new "First-time User" pop-up that asks them all those nosy questions.
I've taken to training the lecturers individually at their desks if possible, mainly so that I can put that button up there for them!
I'd love to hear how you get on with this at Sussex.
Best wishes
Ian

Hi
No we hadn't thought of doing that but I do think it's a great idea. Our experience here at Plymouth is that for some unknown reason the academics always struggle with adding the bookmarking button. And sometimes this actually alienates the academic from the whole process.

Subject: Bookmarklet button
At Sussex, we're considering whether it would help our academics if the Bookmarklet button was added to the standard browser's bookmarks toolbar as the default setting. We've discussed this with our IT colleagues and they think they could do it for IE but not Firefox. They also thought that it would be good to change the name of the button so as not to cause confusion with bookmarks in general. So we were wondering if any of you have done this or thought about doing it?
