Dear Gerard,
there is a parallel publication project at the library school of Chur University - see their blog entry. My own approach to sustainable library services, though, goes substantially beyond low-energy/zero-energy buildings, recycled stationery and energy optimised server management: I'd include Open Access publishing as well as Open Source Software for all library functions because both grant the long-term, cost-effective access to information sources and information management tools.
