Dear Colleagues,
In today's environment, it is critical to one's career to network with colleagues, keep up with the latest trends and techniques and develop new skills. However with the budget challenges that many libraries face, it grows increasingly difficult for a librarian to attend the conferences that provide these key benefits.
The IEEE can help. If you are interested in attending the 2012 UKSG Conference in Glasgow but lack the travel budget to do so, enter your name in the online entry form at this url http://tinyurl.com/7379evl and you will be automatically entered in a random drawing to win a free conference registration. (A value of £595.00 + VAT). This drawing is part of an IEEE program to help support libraries during difficult economic times.
While you are there, you are also invited to attend the following IEEE events:
IEEE Customer Dinner meeting on Monday, 26 March 2012, The Restaurant Bar & Grill, Glasgow City Centre. Register at this url http://uksgglasgow.eventbrite.co.uk/
and
IEEE User Group meeting on Thursday, 29 March 2012 at Glasgow Caledonian University. See this url for registration http://ieeeusergroup2012.eventbrite.co.uk/
Information professionals who oversee IEEE Xplore or who answer their users’ questions on how to efficiently find IEEE content should attend. This is a meeting for librarians who are familiar with IEEE Xplore and who would like to have input on future development.
