Hi,
The way we've been doing things is simply telling folk that they exist.
I have a blog for electronic resources news, and I'd put that type of
information on it. I think that a lot of our students will be more used
to using apps than library staff - I speak entirely for myself here! -
so might well just get on with using them, but my concern is that is we
start to promote them heavily, there may be an expectation that we would
be able to support them, too. Which is fine up to a point, but it just
feels like there are rather too many variables. For example, I have an
Android phone, so could 'play around' with an Android app, but I don't
have ready access to an iPhone/iPad, without relieving a
colleague/friend of theirs!

Hi Sarah,
Yes, I would also be interested to get your views and those of others on
this matter - we have a Bridgeman Education app which is free to both
trial users and subscribers of our online digital image resource.
Do apps get actively promoted in your institution? Do you find apps a
useful tool to engage students in your Library's electronic resources?
Many thanks in advance for your feedback.
Best wishes,
Alice

Hi all,
With more electronic resources launching apps, I was just wondering if
any of you are actively promoting/publicising them to your users? If so,
how, and if not, why not? I've got my own thoughts on the matter, but
wondered what others were doing.
Thanks in advance.
Best wishes,
Sarah
