An excellent opportunity has arisen for a GIS & Charting Officer, to join us in order to support a multi-disciplined organisation by providing specialised cartography, GIS and geographical data analysis.
The ideal candidate will have Specialist Cartography, GIS and CAD skills and be able to demonstrate their practical experience in this field.
Candidates must already be eligible to work in the UK.

Job Title: GIS & Charting Officer
Purpose: To Support Global Marine operations by providing specialised cartography, GIS and geographical data analysis.
Duties:
• Creation of project specific installation charts for telecoms cable installations using CAD and GIS software
• Produce project related maps and charts
• Manage deliverables for assigned charting and records management contracts.
• Support company GIS projects.
• Provide Ad hoc data requests/charting support to internal and external customers as required
Experience / Qualifications:
Required:
• Qualification in suitable GIS, Cartography or ‘Earth Sciences’ course
• Specialist Cartography, GIS and CAD skills.
• Experience with GeoMedia or ESRI GIS products essential
• Familiarity with databases, data processing and data management
• Good Microsoft Office skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Excellent team player
• A willingness to embrace new ways of working
• Familiarity with charting and GIS requirements of the submarine telecoms industry would be advantageous but not essential
