Position available – Postdoctoral fellow at Mind, Brain Imaging and Neuroethics Research Unit, Institute of Mental Health Research, University of Ottawa
Our research group works on linking biochemical and neuronal mechanisms in different psychological contexts, ranging from reward over decision making to self-specificity, in healthy subjects and psychiatric patient groups. One particular focus is on the biochemical underpinnings of resting-state activity and how this predicts in a bottom-up way stimulus-induced activity and associated psychological and behavioral variables. Using multimodal imaging (EEG, PET, MEG, fMRI, and MRS), we conduct our imaging studies at various centers worldwide.
Our group is currently looking to employ one postdoctoral researcher who has a background in at least one of the techniques we employ and who has a strong interest in the biochemical and neuronal mechanisms of psychological processes, as well as in questions surrounding neural coding and computational modeling of imaging data. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in advanced neuroimaging techniques, biomedical engineering, or neural network modeling.
The fellowship has competitive terms and will be for a period of two to four years. To apply please look at our website (http://www.imhr.ca/research/northofflab/Positions_.cfm) where you can find a more detailed overview of our aims and our papers, as well as the guidelines for application.
