The Office for Disability Issues put out a discussion document late last year, Fulfilling Potential, as part of the work they are doing on developing a Disability Strategy - responses are due in this Friday, 9th March. It's another example of the enormous gap between rhetoric and stark reality. Most worryingly, it doesn't mention the Right to Control, one of the legacies of the last government which could truly deliver choice and control for disabled people - if implemented. Although there's much else that could be said in response to the discussion document, I've written a blog about the very different approaches encompassed in welfare reform on the one hand and the Right to Control on the other. http://jennymorrisnet.blogspot.com/2012/03/fulfilling-potential-or-potential.html
