Jane thinks that it must be old source code
that they are having to work with.
our hope is that if it is 'standard'
we can just use a modern compiler.

My first college computer class was originally assigned the book by
McCracken. The instructor told us to return it and, instead, buy a copy
of the IBM Fortran (er. FORTRAN) Language Reference Manual (1969
vintage). That was our textbook for the quarter. Probably as close as
you can get to a definitive text on Fortran IV.
