To mark its 50th anniversary, the University of York is offering up to 20 anniversary research lectureships. These posts are aimed at outstanding post-doctoral researchers and will offer them an extended period of research and a permanent career path. The history department has a preference for candidates who will enhance the departments strong track record in public engagement with the past and public history, broadly defined. All periods will be considered but candidates will be expected to demonstrate potential in one or more of the following areas:
- Generating research grant income and collaborative doctoral awards
- Building partnerships in the city of York and with national stake-holders
- Developing expertise in the digital humanities
- Developing student internships and employability
- Undertaking research that is of the highest international standard
