Dear all, we are currently testing service pack 7, and are also investigating the hosting provision options for larger video files - currently served via Equella. We are keen to find out how others are hosting and serving video files through Blackboard. Kaltura looks promising, but cost could be an issue? Is anyone making extensive use of YouTube "Mashup" by hosting owned videos via private channels? Obviously copyright needs consideration, and the continuing tie in with Google. N. B we do not have BB Content or Community.
A similar discussion on the ALT list seems to be split between using YouTube versus "in house" video servers.
And finally, are you treating the embed tag in the same vein as a link, regarding (legally) running video files as teaching resources in a VLE? The law seems rather vague on the use of "embedding" videos.
Regards.
