Dear Colleagues,
The Hong Kong Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (HKIHSS)

interested in conducting humanities and social science research on
science, medicine and health in East Asia.
The student is expected to commence his/her study in September 2012. The
Institute will provide studentships for those who study full-time for
the postgraduate degrees during the prescribed periods of study. These
studentships provide a monthly stipend for two years in the MPhil
programme, and three to four years for the PhD programme. The basic
amount is presently HK$13,600 (for the 2011-12 academic year). The
application deadline isApril 30, 2012. For the application procedure,
forms and further information, please see the following website:

The Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences
(incorporating the Centre for Asian Studies) provides a robust platform
for research on societies and cultures in China and in an
inter-connected Asia, at The University of Hong Kong, and well networked
with global academic partners. While deepening existing comparative
regional studies of China, the Institute is developing new programmes
with strategic alliances in the United States, Europe, East Asia, India,
and the Middle East. Key partners include Yale University, the
Harvard-Yenching Institute, National Singapore University, Academia
Sinica and the Social Science Research Council.
Please forward this message to students who may be interested in
pursuing their postgraduate degree in Hong Kong, and encourage them to
apply.
Thank you,
Angela
