Hi there - would very much appreciate some direction on the following:
To compare and detect for significant differences between 2 treatments
from a populations having various different types of heterogeneity at play.
more specifically:
Population is all plumbing repairs carried out on UK houses.
Two treatments are Firm A and Firm B
Heterogeneities are: scale of repair, type of boiler, age of house,
geographical location etc. (a number of obvious heterogeneities)
Question: is Firm A significantly different to Firm B
Allstat Question: how to determine what sample size is required, given
presence of heterogeneities, to carry out such a test.
many thanks, Sara
