Linkola is certainly on the extreme end of radical environmentalism, the nagging thought that sometimes keeps me awake is that in some respects he may unfortunately be right. The image of a world overpopulated to a massively unsustainable degree choking on poisoned air chomping down more and more burgers and fries, buying endless streams on fundamentally useless tat in a vain attempt to drown out the unpalatable truth that in the end we are consuming our way to self destruction is a compelling one.
I think it was Orwell who made the point that telling the truth during times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act. Whether Linkola is telling 'the truth' is a moot point, but his unflinching approach is sometimes a refreshing change from the capitalist friendly environmental approach that relies on us buying slightly different carrier bags. His article in Vol 3 of Tyr is a deeply unpalatable read, while at the same time raising some very important questions.
To the extent that some forms of contemporary paganism/heathenism/occultism have taken a turn towards neo-tribalism, decentralisation, eco-awareness, a focus on cultural heritage and so forth, there is a danger that this becomes distorted into an aggressive supremacist position open to exploitation by corporatist/ national-socialist ideology. However, I also think there is also a need to re-think exactly what is meant by 'far-right', 'New-Right', 'Fascist' and indeed 'Marxist', 'Stalinist' or 'Totalitarian' and what is necessary for a set of ideas/ practices to be accurately placed within that definition. One can believe in socialist collectivisation without condoning the Ukrainian genocide and similarly it is possible to be committed to the notion of meta-genetics (viz the Asatru Folk Assembly) without being supremacist.
As ever I remain happily confused . . .

"But every child will learn how to clean a fish in a way that only the big shiny bones are left over."
I could support that. :)
