Hello
I'm a non-Twitter user and am lurking in the forum! We do have facebook and twitter accounts for the library, managed by one of my colleagues and have found it useful, as someone else said, to be able to put up 'immediate news' (unexpected library closure, for example).
I'll carry on lurking now - it's really interesting reading everybody's posts and I may be tempted to get twittering myself!

I'd be really interested if any non-Twitter users were lurking in the
e-forum today, seems we're a mainly Twitter-friendly crowd so far.
I've only had a smartphone for 6 months, so did used to tweet only from the
computer. The phone has made a huge difference and is why I now use Twitter
for preference over RSS feeds or even email.
