PDRA position in Extragalactic Computational Astrophysics
Applications are invited for a 3-year Post-Doctoral Research Associate
post working with Dr. Victor Debattista to carry out research on the
formation and evolution of star clusters at the centres of galaxies
using hydrodynamical simulations. The project, funded by STFC, includes
collaborators in Switzerland and the US who are leading projects to
gather observational data and develop state-of-the-art simulation codes.
The project will have access to considerable computing resources,
including at the 600 cpu High Performance Computing facility of the
University of Central Lancashire, at COSMOS (the UK national cosmology
supercomputer) as well as computing time via international
collaborators.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a relevant subject (e.g. galactic
astrophysics) and ideally have experience of computational astrophysics.
Skills in scientific computing in a Linux/Unix environment are
