Just received an e-mail from BMA postpoing the meeting regarding
industrial action / pension action that was planned for Monday in
Glasgow.
Keen to know what to expect. The 'working without enthusiasm' phrase
used on the bbc news wesbite didn't strike me as much different from
normal service.
Would be much happier if my retirement didn't keep going further and
further away and if my pension contributions could stay the same as
present, having already increased a couple of years ago. When in my
30s I recall thinking that despite everyone talking up the NHS scheme
the rug could be pulled away from under it at any point. Not certain
that it will deliver me alive to retirement age - the rules could
change again, depending on motives / finances / priorities.
Hard though to get the time to dedicate to it; hard also to see any
alternatives that are any better.
46 this year. Still be on gp-uk 20 yrs from now? Maybe 25?
It's not very cheering.
:-(
