Hello FSL experts,
I have been analyzing a set of MRI scans using FIRST and have curiously noticed that in my sample of 33 older adults (Age range 60-82), I have a correlation of r = .45 between brainstem volume and combined hippocampal volume. I would think that these structures are relatively independent, and thus it seems odd to have such a high correlation. Would anybody have any idea if there are any reasons these two regions would have this relationship, or any characteristics of the FIRST algorithm that could cause such a correlation?
Thank you for any assistance in advance,
