If you just got a new cert, then you might be seeing problems with the 2-B cerfiticate. VOMS servers store the root CA as well as the DN, so that needs fixed at the VOMS server. This would affect all VOMS server that haven't been updated, so you could check the dteam / northgrid VO?
I got a new (2-B rooted) cert a month ago, and GGUS is working for me. This might be a different problem.
