First, for the first method, I cannot test whether the visual complexity effect in face and house involves overlapped brain regions. That is, to test the conjunction activation for the complexity in face and in the house.
second, for my experiment is that reasonable to use multiple regression at the second level. That is, enter three factors (i.e., subjects, stimulus types, visual complexity) in the multiple regressions. For example,
