An opportunity has arisen at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre for a
full-time science communication role within the Public Engagement, Media &
Grants Facility. This would be an excellent opportunity for a recent
science graduate to develop their writing and communication skills.
Job Title: Web-Editor
The web editor will manage digital publications within a busy print,
design and communications facility within the MRC Clinical Sciences
Centre. He/she will be required to source, edit and update all content on
the CSC (Clinical Sciences Centre) and BPoD (Biomedical Picture of the
Day) websites promoting CSC news through social media networks. The work
will involve use of Photoshop to edit biomedical imagery. In addition
he/she will support the administration of the Institute's public
engagement programme, help produce the annual prospectus using Adobe
Creative Suite tools, support the print facility as required and edit a
bi-monthly internal newsletter. The successful candidate will be a
flexible team-player with excellent communication skills, a good
understanding of biological sciences and an ability to prioritise and work
effectively to tight deadlines.
