Hi David

If you want to include something on the value of science and maths for their future careers there is a PowerPoint on the Future Morph careers website which was designed for teachers to adapt. It gives some of the key messages about STEM subjects and can be downloaded from here: http://www.futuremorph.org/teachers/science_teaching_resources.cfm

In that section of the site there are also some videos of people talking about using science and maths in their jobs that you could embed e.g. a meteorologist, a glass artist, theatre technician etc.

The Royal Society of Chemistry has some more glossy presentations with their "More than just white coats" and others: http://www.rsc.org/Education/Teachers/Resources/CareersPresentations.asp

By the way, we're always happy to supply Future Morph postcards for people to take to schools if you'd like to point pupils in the direction of follow up careers information - just drop Holly a line: [log in to unmask]

Good luck for Monday!

Best wishes
Nicola

Hi Rhys et al,

Thanks firstly for everyone who's been in touch.

As far as materials go, I'm looking at Powerpoint things - the Y8 talk is for 180 of them, so hand-arounds are going to be a bit more difficult!

All the best,

David
