It depends on the speaker. We have a Panphonics Soundshower 2 AA-100 piezo flat panel speaker, and it DOES generate a noticeable artifact, whereas the usual transducers we got from CTF do not. They are mounted near the back of the gantry, the flat panel was in the near corner of the MSR. We stopped using the flat panel speaker because what we really wanted was loudness, and it isn't loud enough, plus it makes an artifact.
