An Invitation to Join
VLV - Voice of the Listener & Viewer.
Speaking up for Public Service Values
A number of MeCCSA member institutions are already Academic Members of VLV.
VLV would welcome more to join us. Membership costs £65 annually for college and university departments in the UK (£80 for overseas institutions). Details of Membership, Benefits, Events, and of VLV’s annual Student Essay Competition are available on the website [link to www.vlv.org.uk] and VLV this year is changing the Essay Competition time-table to align it with the academic year
VLV’s Mission and Purposes are to:
• Safeguard the quality, diversity and editorial integrity of broadcast programmes;
• Promote wider choice of high quality programmes and related on-line services;
• Fight undue influence over broadcasting by commercial, political, sectarian or other interests;
• Raise awareness, now and for the future, of the essential role broadcasting plays in democracy and in our national and community life and culture.
“Note to Editors”: Voice of the Listener & Viewer (VLV) has no relationship with Mediawatch (formerly the National Viewers' & Listeners' Association founded by the late Mrs Mary Whitehouse)
