Dear All,
TALK: 'A Time and a Place' by Alinka Greasley
Tues February 14th, 5.15pm, University of Leeds
Full Title: A Time and a Place: The role of context in people's uses
of and responses to music.
Abstract: Drawing on recent findings from the field of music
psychology, this talk will explore the role of social context in
shaping individuals' responses to and uses of music. It will provide
examples of how people interact with music differently according to
the listening situation, concurrent activities, the presence/absence
of others, and the level of control they have over the music. The role
of general levels of engagement with music will also be discussed.
