Mia
I'm going up to the event, as part of a follow-up and response that Arts Council England are planning to the EC Cookie legislation.
I'll be taking notes on the day and will post to the list
All the best

Subject: Event 'We need to talk about cookies – a digital conversation', Manchester
I know, I know, the dreaded 'ICO cookies advice' meme, but I thought
it's worth passing on details of this event in Manchester on February
24. If anyone goes, perhaps they could post a summary of the advice
back to the list?
"It’s for that reason that we’ve got together with the Information
Commissioners Office – the overlords of such legislation – to give you
some advice on what cookies actually are, how likely it is you’ll be
using them and most importantly, what the ICO position is and what you
can do about it.
For 2 hours over lunch on February 24th 2012, we’re holding an event
to dispel any myths around cookies, the law and your options – and
you’re invited.
Speakers will be:
Garry Byrne, Managing Director, Reading Room Manchester:
Introductions and an overview of cookies.
Dave Evans, ICO: The ICO position – What you need to know, what
you need to worry about.
Vivienne Andrews, Head of Strategy, Reading Room Manchester: What
people are doing about it, what steps you can take to give you peace
of mind."
