If "VO:atlas" appears in the static LDIF file, and "atlas" is the name of a unix group, then some lines about atlas should be printed by the dynamic scheduler program. I *think* that if /atlas is listed in the static LDIF file, but not "VO:atlas", that it also by default prints for /atlas. But maybe not. It's been a long time since I've looked at that piece of the code. You may need to have
atlas:/atlas
in the scheduler conf file.

great! Can you also submit a GGUS bug with that information, if it's in the code?

yep, it is only used to calculate free slots. the code that prints that data does
free_slots_vo = min(free_slots_cluster, vo_max_running - vo_running)
