Subject: University Debating: dbee LIFE, 3 weeks on.
Hi there,
We emailed you last month to tell you about dbee LIFE, our real-time social network designed to provide a monitored debating platform for a range of people including university staff and students.
The response we have had from UK universities has been fantastic. After just three weeks we are in ongoing dialogue with 35 universities, and staff and students from over 50 are now registered and debating on dbee LIFE. We have also received interest from the likes of the BBC and the British Pharmacological Society as well as higher education institutes overseas.
To those of you who have already registered, thank you very much for joining and supporting our belief that not only should debate play an integral part in higher education, but also embracing modern technology and communication methods can only be beneficial to it. We very much hope you are enjoying the dbee LIFE experience and we are very grateful for your positive and constructive feedback.
dbee LIFE aims to promote peer-to-peer debate in a unique and engaging way. Already, academics are using dbee LIFE to 'create debate' with students on all manner of topics, and student union representatives are using the site to gauge opinion amongst their members. Many are taking advantage of the private group function for confidential debating and many are using our scoring options, although this is proving more popular in open debate where people are enjoying tangibly rating other people's contributions!
We would like to invite you to discover dbee LIFE and let us, your colleagues and your students, know what you think. Click here<http://www.dbeelife.com/uni/university.htm> to visit our university reference site and find out more about us, the project, how dbee LIFE can help you, and how you can get involved. Alternatively, click here<http://www.dbeelife.com/> to take a look around and join our live debates at dbeeLIFE.com
Many thanks for your time - Adam, Andrew & Guy
