Hi all,
As far as I'm concerned, another huge issue with Elsevier is that it has publications related to the arms industry and it supports arms fairs, as reported by Paul Chatterton http://www.paulchatterton.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/chatterton-public-scholar1.pdf
I don't think this is a less important reason than the others for starting a boycott.
Cheers,
Jero

Apologies - the site http://thecostofknowledge.com/ was NOT set up by Timothy Gowers, but was inspired by a blog post written by him about Elsevier. It was set up by mathematician Tyler Neylon.
