Gendered Subjects Postgraduate Event
Northumbria University, Thursday 21st June 2012
Call for ‘snapshots’
The day will consist of panel sessions featuring 10 minute ‘snapshots’ of postgraduate research projects on any aspect of gender studies, culminating in a provocative or key research question. The panels will be themed as far as possible, but will be interdisciplinary to facilitate debate across subject boundaries.
Proposals of 100 words are invited for the ‘snapshots’ – offering an overview of your project or focussing on one aspect of it in particular. Remember, you will only have 10 minutes!
Please send your 100 word proposal with a 50 word biography to [log in to unmask] by Thursday 5th April 2012
The cost of the day will be £15 per delegate, including lunch and refreshments. There will be ample time during the day to meet and chat with fellow postgraduates in an informal environment. The event will conclude with a discussion of current issues in the field and plans for future developments.
This event aims to:
· bring together postgraduate students working on gender issues in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
· establish lines of communication within Northumbria and with universities across the region
· develop a network of postgraduate gender studies researchers and thus facilitate future collaborative work and events
Plenary Roundtable:
