Hi all
We're in the very early stages of testing this amongst ourselves before proceeding with anything more.
We've noticed a strange issue and haven't quite figured out how to stop it happening - has anyone else found that Drive seems to hijack a particular letter drive and render it impossible to get back?! Here, our (as in, staffmembers) network drives are mapped to H:/. Using Drive has made the H:/ drive disappear (though 'my documents' etc is still accessible). If we can't solve it, we basically can't proceed with using Drive at all.
Anyone noticed anything similar?
Cheers
Alex

Subject: Re: BbDrive - Rollout and use
Final post on BbDrive speed, I promise. In case anyone is interested this is the official line from Blackboard support:
"It is known that Bb Drive is slower than uploading via the GUI or using a web folder. This is due to the single-threaded nature of the client. When an operation is requested, only one can happen at a time. Often the upload takes longer because the file is uploaded and then the metadata is uploaded, this can't happen simultaneously because of the nature of webdav. I am not aware of any changes that could be made on your network that would make it faster.
Bb drive wasn't developed to be faster than uploading to the gui, it was designed to be a simple and direct access portal to the content."
I'm taking this as meaning it might be useful if you want to open, edit and then save a single document but not much good for anyone uploading large/multiple files. I'm concerned though at suggesting to tutors that there is yet another way you can upload content - personally I might leave this one for now.
Have a nice weekend
Ian
