Hello all,
I'm getting in touch with those Americans who are studying Archives and Records Management in Britain to seek support in requesting that the Academy of Certified Archivists offer the 2012 accreditation exam at a site within the UK. This accreditation will be very valuable to us in applying for jobs back in the U.S., and is only offered once a year (in August). As it stands, the test will be given at five locations (San Diego/Boston/Raleigh/Minneapolis/Vancouver) on August 8th. I will be finishing my dissertation in Glasgow all August, and don't intend on returning to the states that early. I also don't live near any of these places in the first place.
SO! The ACA policy states that they will hold the test at additional locations if petitioned by at least 5 applicants for a specific city. I'm hoping that there will be at least four Americans-abroad who are interested in arranging for the test to be held somewhere in Britain this summer, and will get back in touch soon! Petitions/applications are due May 15th. I can be reached by email at [log in to unmask]
Thanks!
