*Salary:* £35,511 to £40,349 per annum inclusive
*Closing Date: *Monday 13 February 2012
An opportunity has arisen for a research fellow in epidemiology to work for
the ACT Consortium (www.actconsortium.org.uk). The ACT Consortium is a
global research partnership working to maximize the public health impact of
artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACTs) through high quality, policy
driven, multidisciplinary operational research. The post holder will be
based at LSHTM and work as a member of the Consortium’s core team but will
also make visits to collaborating sites overseas. The post holder will
work with the core statistician to develop the overall epidemiological and
statistical components of the Consortium, and support specific projects.
The core team will also help to integrate data from across the consortium

policy change; this may involve some data management.
The post is suitable for candidates with a postgraduate degree in
epidemiology or statistics, public health or a related discipline,
preferably with a health component. Applicants should have experience in
managing and analysing large and complex datasets, practical experience of
epidemiological methods and statistics applied to health, evaluation of
complex interventions, strong communication skills, and experience of
working in developing countries.
The post is funded full time for a period of 12 months to start as soon as
possible, although part time options of at least 0.5 FTE may also be
considered. The appointment will be made on the LSHTM Research Fellow scale
with a starting salary between £35,511 and £40,349 per annum inclusive.
