Imperial College London is again running a popular course in meta-analysis. We would appreciate if you could please pass on the course details to colleagues or others who you think may be interested in attending.
A Modern Approach to Meta-Analysis, 23 – 24 April 2012
An introduction to the basic ideas of meta-analysis, including traditional methods for combining results from different studies, for both discrete and continuous measurements
In addition, this course includes new, more efficient methods based on variance stabilisation. This unified approach leads to more accurate confidence intervals for effect sizes in both individual and combined studies. The benefits of variance stabilisation for accurate power calculations and for finding appropriate standardised effects will also be discussed. A package of R functions will be provided.
The course fee is £530. A limited number of places is still available so early booking is recommended.
