Fixed Term for 24 months from April 2012
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced research fellow to support externally funded research projects. The post will focus on two areas of work:-
(i) the analysis of a large adult cohort study (the British Regional Heart Study), which has followed men from middle age. The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking analyses examining the influence of adiposity in early adult life (based on data from military service records) on long-term risks of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, mobility limitation and healthy survival;
(ii) systematic reviews examining trends, global variations and ecological determinants of myopia in childhood and adolescence.
You should possess a Masters level degree in medical statistics, or a closely related discipline and have experience of Research related to medical statistics, epidemiology or a closely related discipline. You should also possess experience in the analysis of large and/or longitudinal datasets and have a record of peer reviewed publications in a relevant field
The salary for this role will be within the range for SGUL7: £39,810 - £44,437, inclusive per annum.
