Subject: Re: Track hoists and fire doors
Alan,
I think that what you need is a hoist that does not break the fire door
at the head. Certain manufacturers do a hoist type that does not rely on
a track to cross the door so the fire integrity is maintained. It relies
instead on a hook type system that runs under the door. I have no
personal experience of these but have seen them in catalogues. Can't
quite remember who makes at present but can dig info up if it sounds of
interest

there any way to seal the area where the track penetrates in the event
of fire? Are there any standard intumescent sleeves or track parts for
this type of application?
