Here's a couple I have heard about:

http://journal.code4lib.org/articles/2634
http://erl.lakeheadu.ca/staff/doku.php?id=public:elink_checker
I haven't checked them lately- just pulled them from my email. There's a good one I have used- by Jason Zou, Lakehead University, CA, but the link isn't working just now. I'll look it out after the meeting I'm about to go to and contact Anne directly.

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Link resolvers
We at the House of Lords Library are looking to address the problem with dead links on our catalogue. We use Sirsi Dynix as our LMS provider. They do offer a link checker system, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestion on how to address the problem with dead links more effectively? Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks, Anne
