Dear colleagues
Within the framework of our research and editorial project Series
Catalogorum (by Istituto per l'Oriente Carlo Alfonso Nallino and CNRS
Mondes iranien et indien) we are currently organising the 3rd Journée
d'études Series Catalogorum followed by a one-day Colloquium, on 6 and 7 December 2012, at the University of Naples "L'Orientale."
The Journée d'études (6 December), Pratiques de catalogage des manuscrits
islamiques (Actualités de la recherche) / Cataloguing of Islamic Manuscripts
(Work in Progress) is a workshop (atelier de recherche) devoted to some
current projects of the Series Catalogorum, the presentation of the
manuscript collections under the process of cataloguing, and various case
studies, in which both researchers and PhD students are invited to participate.
The Colloquium (7 December) is dedicated to Codex and Text. The use and
relevance of codicology, palaeography and illumination for textual studies.
Its aim is to highlight the relation between text and manuscript support,
and focus on interrelations between codicological studies and textual studies in the research on the history of Islamic manuscript tradition.
We invite researchers and advanced PhD students to submit proposals for the
Journée d'études or the Colloquium before the 1 April 2012 to the attention of Professor Michele Bernardini ([log in to unmask]) and/or
Professor Roberto Tottoli ([log in to unmask])
Please note that the talk should not exceed 20 minutes (plus 10 minutes of
discussions), and it can be presented in English or French.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Michele Bernardini (Rome, Istituto per l'Oriente - University of Naples
"l'Orientale") Roberto Tottoli (Rome, Istituto per l'Oriente - University of
Naples "l'Orientale") Maria Szuppe (CNRS Mondes iranien et indien, Paris)
