A User Support Officer is required to provide technical support to institutional support staff and users of EDINA's geo-data services, Digimap and UKBORDERS.
You will have a relevant undergraduate degree and a minimum of 2 years related experience. An enthusiastic, dynamic, forward-thinking individual, you will be one of a complement of over 80 staff working to help improve productivity in learning, teaching and research.
Main Responsibilities include:
1. Provide expert support, advice and online help and documentation on the use of EDINA geodata and mapping services; mainly queries referred by helpdesk staff, escalating complex queries to workgroup manager when appropriate.
2. Contribute to the development and delivery of JISC funded national services in collaboration with EDINA service delivery staff, engineers and managers.
3. Promotional and outreach activity, including presenting and leading EDINA training courses or workshops (GIS, web mapping, spatial data etc.) at relevant conferences and exhibitions.
4. Working closely with helpdesk staff, monitor and process registrations within the Digimap Administration System.
This post is fixed-term for one year.
Salary: £30,122 - £35,938
