I've heard people enthusiastically claiming that they will "release it
as open source when it's finished" and have often felt that they've
somehow got the wrong end of the stick. I wonder (as Henry) how many
of these post-completion open source releases ever actually elicit any
further contributions from the community? I suspect people have to
feel a sense of investment in a project to want to contribute to it.
