Hi
Playing around with HiView to virtually walk around on Mars. ;)
Works really nice ... but it also has its limitation.
Two questions in relation to big Jpeg2000 (jp2) files.
1) @general: Any one know of a tool that can handle those big
Jpeg2000, and chop it up into smaller parts. (loosless)
Looked around a bit. But most just shoke on the big side. Did also
tried Google maptiler ... but that did not work either. (limited to
256x256 sized tiles, which is kinda insane for the images I have in
mind.)
2) @VIPS/nip2: Are there any plans on supporting Jpeg2000 format in
the future? Seems its becoming a favorite image format for really
big(size/resolution) online images.
Note: You can save the image with HiView to disk in a other format,
but due to the size in these cases you need to do this in multiple
manual steps. (than probably re-align those parts again, before you
can generate the tiles you have in mind with nip2.)
mmm, have not Googled with "splitter" yet ... runs of to try that one.
MvGulik.
