I'm not sure i like the lead-in: "lecturing has never been an effective
teaching technique". Really? Whose lectures? Maybe most, but not all. I
know i had a couple lecture classes that were simply *amazing* as an
undergrad, myself.
But in any event, this is simply an extension of clicker technology, it
seems to me. There was a big push for clickers when i was at the U of
Central Florida, and it bothered me that students were being asked to
directly purchase pedagogical technology (several technologies,
actually, since the different clicker brands aren't compatible with each
other).
Oh—and it also requires a much more linear lesson plan than i tend to be
comfortable with.
