Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the release of www.spacesyntax.net<http://www.spacesyntax.net/>, a website to support the global community of space syntax researchers, teachers, software developers and practitioners.
We have designed spacesyntax.net<http://spacesyntax.net/> to be a port-of-call for people interested in space syntax, a place where you can find information about research, teaching, professional practice, publications and software. The site provides connections to the space syntax and Depthmap discussion groups as well as Twitter and Facebook links.
Most importantly we have tried to streamline the process of downloading software. I'm sorry that there have been delays in the past, especially over Christmas while we were switching over to .net.
As Tasos Varoudis posted last week, Depthmap, being open source, can be downloaded directly now without the need for a licence key. You can now download the latest stable release of Depthmap from spacesyntax.net<http://spacesyntax.net/>.
If you wish, you can participate in the maintenance and development of Depthmap at GitHub:
https://github.com/SpaceGroupUCL/Depthmap<https://github.com/SpaceGroupUCL/> where you will find non-final developer releases of Depthmap along with updates and additions currently in a test phase.
The download process for Confeego has also been simplified at spacesyntax.net<http://spacesyntax.net/>.
If you do download software from spacesyntax.net<http://spacesyntax.net/> you will be asked to create a simple user account. So far nearly 100 people have joined the site.
We want the .net site to be inclusive - providing links to individuals and organisations throughout the world (ie not just UCL or Space Syntax Limited) but also links to other implementations of space syntax software.
Please use the Comments boxes to send us useful links as well as general feedback. Your comments on the new site will be greatly appreciated. I expect there will be some bugs - please help us find them!
Best wishes to all
