Hi everyone,
I have recently conducted a principal components analysis (with varimax rotation). Using the Eigenvalues over 1 method, 11 components emerged accounting for 65.9% of the variance.
However, many of these components only account for 3% of the variance and I was wondering whether they should be retained despite only accounting for a small portion of the variance?
I would like to think they can be as the items contained in each of these components are conceptually different from each other but I am struggling to find a good resource/reference for justifying their retention.
Best Wishes,
Anna
